PRE-TREATMENT ADVICE
1. Avoid Sun Exposure
Stay out of the sun: Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanners) for at least 2 weeks before treatment.
Sunburned or tanned skin increases the risk of side effects like burns or pigmentation changes.
Use SPF: If you must be outside, apply a broad-spectrum SPF 30+ sunscreen on the treatment area.
2. Stop Waxing and Plucking
Do not wax, pluck, or use depilatory creams for at least 4 weeks prior to treatment. These methods remove the hair root, which is needed for the laser to be effective.
Shaving is allowed: You may shave the area before your appointment, as the hair follicle remains intact.
3. Avoid Certain Products
Stop using Retinoids and Exfoliants: Discontinue the use of products containing retinoids, glycolic acid, or other exfoliating agents on the treatment area for at least a week prior to the session.
Inform us if you are using any topical or oral medications that may increase skin sensitivity.
4. Do Not Apply Lotions or Creams
Keep the area clean and dry: On the day of treatment, avoid applying lotions, deodorants, creams, or makeup to the treatment area.
5. Consult
Discuss medical conditions: Inform us of any medical conditions, such as a history of herpes simplex in the
treatment area, as you may need preventive medication.
Review medications: Provide a list of current medications, including antibiotics and birth control, as some may increase photosensitivity.
6. Shave the Area
Shave the treatment area: Shave the area the night before your appointment to ensure the laser can target the hair follicle effectively. Do not shave immediately before your session to minimize skin irritation.
7. Arrive with Clean Skin
Remove any makeup, lotions, or deodorant from the treatment area before your session. This ensures that the laser can penetrate the skin effectively.
8. Hydrate Well
Drink plenty of water: Staying hydrated helps your skin heal faster and may improve treatment results.
9. Wear Loose Clothing
Dress comfortably: Choose loose-fitting clothing to avoid irritation on the treated area after your session.
By following these pre-treatment guidelines, you can help ensure that your laser hair removal treatment is safe and effective.
